  • Slower lower picking up a tad

Getting reports of a good bite at St Inigoes and Point Lookout (if you can get in on a weekend) with a decent puppy drum bite, trout, stripers, blues, and even the occasional Black Sea bass. I can’t say I’ve done as well as the other guys but did get this 19” trout and 8 small flounder the other day.

Some days the fish are color sensitive, others doesn’t matter. If you’re not getting bit try a different color or put on a hard bait to see what is motivating them.

Good work Mike. I'm looking forward to some southern MD fishing in two weeks

I'll be down that way for the long weekend. Hopefully I can contribute to the positive reports.

Got a number of small bluefish today, some schoolie rockfish, a few perch, needlefish, and lizardfish. Not the most desirable species but good variety and I get to add 3 new species to my 2022 list.

White was the preferred color today, electric chicken barely got touched. A few of the bluefish spit up partially digested silversides in my lap, so I guess white matched the hatch better.

Fished the slower lower yesterday evening. Got one small puppy drum and about a dozen medium sized white perch. White definitely was the preferred color. Had to fish the small side coves to get out of the wind.

Today we got into a surprising amount of schoolie rockfish Got about 30 of them between the two of us. I didnt expect to find that many in SOMD waters this time of year. We also got 3 puppy drum, one of which was almost slot. And a variety of lizardfish, needlefish, bluefish, and some perch.

Color didn't seem as crucial today, we got them on electric chicken and space guppy (chartruese w/ gold glitter)
