  • 10/17/22 Lower Slower Report

Saw a brief weather window today and took advantage of it. Wind was still a big factor and kept us out of the main stem of the river. Found some fish. We found feisty rockfish in the 12-16" range. We landed a total of four each during our four hour trip. My buddy Mike also landed a small perch (8") and a 11" speckled trout. We were trolling four inch paddle tails. The perch was caught on a perch pounder. I was using a pearl glow with chartreuse tail and a greenish Zman. Interestingly, only my starboard rod with these baits was hitting today. We saw breaking fish and some bait while in the lee. A neighbor this weekend at Oyster Festival. She called me dedicated for fishing all the time. I'll take it over crazy. A welcome respite from these crazy times though. Take care out there my friends.
