I launched out of Havre De Grace this morning around 740. I could see lots of boats about 1/2 mile out front or a bit farther. I started trolling right away. I had my first fish on within 10-15 minutes. I fished until about 1230, my shoulders and back had enough. I'm liking the dea of a Hobie more and more. I caught 30 stripers mot of them were the YOY 12-14". My biggest was only 18 1/2", that fish was a mess, had sores all over. I caught 2 others about 17-171/2". I lost one at the yak that felt bigger than anything I caught today, I lowered rod tip for a split second trying to get ready to land it and lure came flying out. I had a blast. I always makes me smile when the boats start crowing me in my little plastic boat. I also caught 15" catfish that actually hit my jig as I was swimming it back to yak. I'm sorry I missed the big fish. I plan to hit the flats next spring in hopes of catching a trophy striper from my yak.

I was about 200 yds from the marina entrance as a yuppie yacht passed by. I heard one of the kids yell;"look at him on his kayak, as another kid burst out laughing. I thought to myself as I kept paddling, I wonder how many fish the yuppie boys caught today?

Thanks for the report. Sounds like most of the action was in the same place I found them last Wednesday. Wonder where the bigger mid-20"s are??? They gotta still be in the area somewhere. Were there any concentrations of boats over by the Perryville Park launch?

I see from the Susky tide chart that you were fishing ~2 hours on both sides of low tide. That can be a tuff time. Seems low tide pushes the stripers off the Flats into the deeper channels... at least that sounds logical to me.

I sure wish I couldve found some bigger fish. It's certainly not from my lack if trying. I covered lots of water today. I was really hoping to get a few mid 20" fish. Oh well, still had fun catching fish.

I didn't see any boats near perryville launch. I actually left some pretty active fish not far from marina and not a boat anywhere close.

I agree, seem to land larger fish as the tide rolls in (Roll Tide. . . )

I launch today at 14:00 from Perryville Community Park. I caught 16 fish in 3.5 hours. Caught two-24"ers, two-22"ers, handful of 18"ers, and the rest were around 14". I was using a couple of new suspending jerk baits I picked up at Dick's on sale. There were other kayakers out there (fly fishing), and they said thier best was a 31"er. Good day for only a couple of hours fishing.
