While picking up a 2023 Queen Anne County Launch permit decal at Angler's Sport Center yesterday the checkout counter offered the following tip:
"Cut score lines into the sticker so that it is not easily removed"
They said that they have seen recently instances where people were returning to buy a second $35 bumper sticker launch decal after the first was stolen by some low life. The idea which I employed into practice was that if the decal wouldn't peel off in one piece, the gutter snipe might give up on mine and move on to someone else's. They informed me that the County will not replace lost or stolen decals and the only way law enforcement will know if decal is out of place is for them to run both the tag and check for a name match with the Queen Anne's County Department of Parks and Recreation data from the permit application. I'm saving an image of my sticker on my vehicle and the purchase receipt in case I need to challenge a ($50) fine for having no sticker in the future. Sucks, but it has become a sign of the times.
