  • July 1 Wingo float

Floated from the dam down to deer creek today. Nice overcast day. Picked about 2 dozen smallies each. Caught on a combination of topwater and small crankbaits. 20230701_135027.jpg 20230701_131855.jpg 20230701_091516.jpg

Nice work. Is there a kayak launch near the dam? I only launched once in that area, and that was from the Lapidum boat ramp.

There is an old steep boat ramp just below the dam.

Nice fish - perfect weather for floating down there! Y’all see any snakehead?

No snakehead. They catch quite a few right beneath the dam, but I have yet to encounter one during a float.

Great to see a successful smallie report! I need to get out to some bigger water with my Tenkara rod this month if it will stop raining every evening.
