Launched out of Lapidum this morning to do some catfishing. There wasn’t much water movement and I tried to find some structure. I ended up catching a live clam first - the clam somehow closed down on my line.. I caught a good eating sized one later in this spot and almost lost my anchor on some structure there. I tried a few other spots down river, but didn’t have any luck. I returned back to where I caught the clam to finish the day and landed a nice 36” catfish. Seemed like there was a bit more water movement then. Forgot how good the big ones fight in the summer vs. winter.

Definitely - that was my best one yet for a catfish. It had clams coming out of it as I was taking a photo.

Nice to see someone else going after them! I’ve seen your videos on tautog. How do they compare?
