Fall White Perch fishing

A good friend of mine is looking to bring his kayak down from Northern Virginia and do some white perch fishing.

I’m still in the process of rigging mine up, having just gotten the batteries for the trolling motor. So it’ll be a while before I get out.

I have never targeted white perch, when I had my boat I was more into catching rock and blues, so I don’t know much about them.

He’s looking for spots anywhere from Deale south to Broomes, and I’m not sure whether WP move into deeper water or whether they’re still in the shallows.

Any thoughts or spots you may be willing to share?

I just got off the lower Potomac and perch we’re still shallow. There weren’t a ton (problem all year) but they were quality. I have a feeling this next storm will push them deep. I don’t fish the upper Pax so no help on spots. Gold blade perch pounders have been our go to.
