Put in at 11:30 am this morning to perfectly calm waters and sunny sky. Fished the docks around Spriggs Pond for chain pickeral using a small rattle-trap, purple paddle tail and a spinner bait. The water was clear down to 5 feet. Action was great for the 90 minutes I was out there. Hooked several picks, the largest I landed was 23 1/2 inches. The one pictured was 18”. As you can imagine, they were in their typical nasty moods, putting up some nice fights! Hope to go out again tomorrow if the weather is nice.

Nice going. I was on the Severn yesterday and can confirm, conditions were beautiful. I had a slow-ish day overall. I caught 6 pickerel but I was on the water for 6 hours. The bites came in bursts with long stretches of nothing in between. It was nice to get out there though, this was my first tidal pickerel trip of the season.
