Father and son crew this evening in the 1 mile from the sun kinda day. A little wind is what kept us from melting and a lot of ice cold water and Gatorade. Started out with a semi high tide that allowed us to reach way back into the many pad fields. 6 hits and only a pesky LGMouth to show for all the casting heavy rods. Tide was slow going out and we switched to Rico. Caught a few while I instructed the right way to work them. Then the tide flow was fast and the action too. At dark no tide and no bites. Pushed on into the darkness as the incoming started up really good. Left them hitting as the bugs came out thick. Sorta odd night but we managed 10 or so LGMouth.
I caught a big one when I borrowed the rod from the son while he rested. I got a permission slip to cast a few times. After that big one son wanted the rod back.. Made me smile.
