this morning i did a little casting near rip-rap shorelines and pier pilings. found a couple white perch willing to take a white beetlespin worked along the bottom, just fast enough to wobble the blade and not snag.
no big deal, but enjoyable all the same.
i also saw a couple schools of baby herring/shad or other near shore. not really sure what they were. too big to be this year's baby anchovie but couldn't get a good look at them. last week i scooped a dip net along a rip rap shore and picked up grass shrimp and little bay achovies. that was for an aquarium 'project' but,...
it's starting to seem like summertime. if you have a summer perch spot, you can probly get a couple there now.
