Anyone have any advice on fishing Tridelphia Reservoir? Thinking about taking a trip out there, although I have never been. Where is the best area to launch your kayak and has anyone been out there lately? How is the bass fishing? Probably gonna try sometime this week or weekend....

Ive been to one of the two wssc reservoirs every weekend since they have opened. Take some swim shads @ 3 or 4" ifyou want to troll. Rapala count downs and husky jerks always produce there for me. This weekend a twin blade spinner with white and chart dressing was the ticket. If your not trolling then focus on cove mouths and structure near the edge... Make casts parallel to the shore bringing your lure past structure while you cast. The launch on triadelphia lake road (think thats the name) is the most scenic but the best fishing for me is usually the launch on greenbridge road. You really cant go wrong with any of them though just pick the easiest from where you are coming from. Try rocky gorge too great fishing there.. Launching at browns bridge is a pita right now the ramp is shallow and super muddy.

Triadelphia and Rocky Gorge are both good for spinnerbaits and jerkbaits. I've had good success with the lucky craft pointer 78s and 100s in chartreuse shad... since the lakes are both loaded with gizzard shad.

        Howard County Lauches

On Triadelphia I prefer the launches on the Howard County side. They are less crowded than Greenbridge and much a much shorter load to the water.

At Rocky Gorge I prefer the Supplee launch.

At both Rocky Gorge and Triadelphia I prefer to fish closer to the dams where water clarity is better.

So far this year I have only caught white perch and crappie from the reservoirs. No bass yet for me. I'll have to give it a go one evening soon now that it is staying late longer.

Soft plastic worms near fallen timber works for me in the spring for bass.

I've caught a few on x-raps and while trolling crank baits. But I struggle.

Lately, a bottom bouncer and night crawler have produced white perch. There are big fish in both reservoirs, but it is impossible for me to catch bass on a consistent basis.

That's why I prefer to fish the Potomac instead.

Piney Run so far this year has produced some bass for me, where I'm sure I would have been skunked at Triadelphia or Rocky Gorge.

Fished RG Saturday and caught a couple of nice bass in the 2-3 pound range. I wasn't having any luck with spinner baits or top water so I slowed down with the Berkley Power Worm casting at some downed trees. Once I finally got on them I had to leave to get home to watch the Caps and Rangers game. I will probably go back some time this week.

Edwonbass was that you I met out there tryin with the buzz bait? Perchy I use the 3/8th alot but have used heavier ones as well. I seem to be able to get the 3/8 down deep with alot of line out and a slower troll. I measure,my troll by running the bait right next to me until the speed looks good then I loosen my drag and drop it back slow letting the drag run.

What color spinnerbaits have worked the best for you? I've had luck with a 3/8 oz chartreuse one... but I bought some new spinnerbaits in white/clown/black to try out as well as some 1/2 oz chartreuse and white ones.
