I have fished both Seneca Valley and Greenbrier in the past week with great success. Seneca yielded 4 bass in 3 hours, all of which about 2lbs. Did see HUGE surface splash across lake from a fish but no such luck in catching it. Greenbrier however was an even better trip with 8 bass in 2 hours of fishing. Average size being 2lbs. All caught on white 6" Senkos in deep water. Overall I am loving my kayak purchase and just wanna say thanks to everyone on here for the advice and support!!! Would love to meet up and fish with some fellow yakers. Just shoot me a pm and we will set it up.

You fished two of my favorite lakes. Greenbrier Lake (and Cunningham Falls Lake too) are loaded with mid-sized bass. But being that both lakes are only about 40-50 acres, the bass have seen every lure and trick in the book, many times over. They can be a little tough to fool.
Little Seneca is a much bigger lake, holds lots of nice bass too. I've had some good bassing days there. There's lots of downed timber to fish through too. There's also a scattering of musky hybrids although I have yet to catch a big one, just little guys. Years ago I use to fish it mostly for nice sized bluegill and crappie. But seems over the years the size of the panfish has slowly decreased the point that keepers are relatively rare. But the bass fishing more than makes up the small panfish.

Oooops... maybe I have confused Seneca Lake with nearby Little Seneca Lake, aka: Black Hills Lake. They are two different Lakes.Last edited by HJS; 05-22-2012, 04:12 PM.Howard
