  • Mattawoman Creek- 5-24

I got out on the water for the third time on my Stealth 12 and had a great few hours at Mattawoman, including landing my first fish on my kayak! Launched from Mattingly for the first time around 5 last evening and headed left out of the ramp. I fished a chatter bait and top water baits until I got my first fish in the lilly pads on a jitterbug. I was almost to the submerged barge and was feeling good after my first fish when the weather looked like it was about to open up. I heard thunder to the south and checked the weather channel ap radar to see two red blobs coming my way so I feverishly paddled back towards the ramp. The storm ended up going south and I was able to land four more bass all on topwater. One shook off at the kayak as I was trying to adjust my GoPro to get the action (felt and looked bigger than all the others I caught). All in all a great evening on the water.
