  • Choptank River 5/29 Night

So my new fishing grounds this summer will be mostly the Choptank River. I just moved down to Cambridge and my backyard has a creek in it!! Headed out last night around 800pm and headed to Red 20 off of Horns Point, it was about a mile from my location. I was hoping for Croaker but after talking to a few locals and the bait shop owner my prospects werent too good. My bait was softshell, and bloodworms. The bloodworms tore up the little White Perch, and I caught a few nicer sized ones on big chunks of crab. Biggest was the one in the picture.

This was my first kayak night fishing experience, and it was awesome. I think its just a waiting game for the croaker to show up round here, they are in the tangier sound and Nanticoke.

The croaker are at Roaring Point pretty thick Ive heard, so you're right, it shouldn't be too long. Id check out Hoopers Island bridge too, especially at night. It has a good light line. Good luck on your internship.

Great report! That's a mighty healthy White Perch! My wife would never let me move close to a body of water... she'd never see me! LOL
