  • Susquehanna River Stripers

Found this Susquehanna River Fishing report. Looks like this guy is shore fishing at the Conowingo Dam. I rode the motorcycle up there over on Monday and people were only catching carp and catfish.

Most people won't be catch stripers bc they arn't targeting them until the season opens June 1st. At that time tactics change.... And more will be landed. We used to fish the river in float tubes n kayaks.... Move move move until you find a school... Also we stayed away from the dam bank fishermen and moved around the back side of the island to some good pools, cuts n moving water. Top water can be great if you find a good school fish ranged from inches up to close to 40 but the year we caught the real big ones.... We had cold weather n alot of rain that kept the river cold that year. Once it warms up to bath water the big ones are usually gone. Catching a nice striper on light tackle n top water in the river is awesome, they use that current n sometimes you had to chase them down.
