  • Mattawoman Creek 6/6

Fished Mattawoman this morning, the water level was extremely high. I talked with one of the guys down there and he said it was considered a 'flood tide' not too familiar with that but you couldn't see where the boat ramp met the pavement.

My Dad rented a Hobie from Up the Creek Rentals and we started off around 715 to the left of the boat ramp. As we headed down the creek and around the corner it looked like we were in a pond. All of the Lily pads were completely submerged.

We managed to hook into a few catfish, not too sure of the type (i'm sure you guys can help!) The Bass and SH were pretty elusive today, but my Dad managed to catch a 15" LM on a Berkeley power bait. I think the sheer amount of water made it difficult to figure out where they would be at. All in all a great day on the water!

Nice going... wow, never seen the water as high as you describe it.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that the cats you caught are a blue cat and a bullhead. (don't take my word for it though)
