I got a late start today and was on the water by 10:15. I paddled up to Manresa to see how the perch bite was coming along. I found a few spots that held fish and was happy to catch perch, pickerel and rockfish. All the perch were nice size, in the 10"-11" range, the pickerel were 16"-18" and the rock were all micro (6-8"). Like Bignose found over in Weems creek, the hot bait was a 3" grub in chartreuse, although I did manage a pickerel and perch on one in white.
There were a ton of baitfish in the creek, I think silversides, not peanut bunker. I caught the baby rockfish as they were feeding on the bait.
I also tried to jig the structure of the old rt 450 bridge but the wind and current made it tough. I caught nothing but did mark plenty of bait.
