  • Stjeromes trout

I might have had a better day if the jet skiers had not run me out of the fishing area, but I did have consistent action from 14" rocks and 14" Speckled trout! lost as many as I kept fishing in my favorite place....the one only fishable by kayaks, at least via trolling.

I was happy also about what I caught them on. I recently bought some brook trout pattern x raps befcause i thought the spots and worm marks on them looked like some of the local mummichogs, which is the main forage at this particular location.......and it caught 2 to 1 better than my other excellent lure a small feathered tony spoon. Love it when a hare brained idea pans out.
Many short stripers, 3 keeper specs (and a few shorts), many lost fish, till I figured how loose the drag had to be to keep the trout hooked. Lost one REAL nice one just short of the boat.

Nice job on the specks! It is really good to see them being caught on the western shore.

Man, I'm so jealous. That is excellent news. They're an especially delicious species, too, IMO. I'll have to pick up a couple of those X-Raps. What size were they?

There's an older guy that jet skis there often. One day, he was just ripping back and forth. He stopped to talk to me for a bit. I should've asked it if it was possible to zoom around somewhere else. Oh well, that was an opportunity lost.

I always launch at fresh pond neck rd. But llonger paddle from buzz's will give you better intel. I am just old and have a very slow kayak.

Bill, 6, count them, 6 jet skiers fascinated with the narrows, why with the whole creek available they need to jet through the only fishable water is beyond me.

Nice fat trout, Kevin. And that dish looks absolutely delicious. Specks are among my top table fares. Never fished there, so I'm going to have to try that place one day.

I almost did not go today either. House guests stepped out for an hour, when they got back, I was GONE!!
