  • BB x2, Potomac x2

Due to my dad's upcoming surgery that will be taking him out of the game for a while, decided to treat him to a hardcore weekend of fishing. Started at the BB on saturday at 6 am and caught so many fish it just got stupid after a while, somewhere between perhaps 80 or 100 between the two of us (threw em all back). Lots and lots of dinks but they provided some solid entertainment, especially when we happened upon a large school of them and were catching them every cast. There was some quality to be had though; we each caught a few over 20" including one at 24". This was my first time catching perch and we tried that out during the tide change. They probably accounted for 30 of our fish and I caught a few of them on the bridge that were 14". The bigger fish are there...shallow is the pattern. All fish in the 20s caught in 6 to 10 feet. My dad also caught a small flounder...

Saturday afternoon/evening drove to the Potomac and launched near the Woodrow Wilson bridge...fished the bridge pilings with a big incoming tide and fished until 10 pm. Caught 5 to 7 really nice LMB (none under 2 pounds) as well as a few accidentally caught catfish (2 were 10 lbs), several small hybrid striper and a few more large stripers, all around 20". Went back there this morning but we got there too late to have much success, a few more cats/hybrids and 3 more nice LMB. Finally, fished the BB one last time on the way back to DE and did alright though it got pretty slow. 1 fish at 23" and a bunch of dinks/perch.

    Too much fishing?

    probably. Pics to follow later
