Good bass and snakehead action this weekend

Took the Tarpon 140 I bought here frlom OBX Rat out on Saturday and Sunday for some bass and snakeheads. I went with two of my buddies who were also itching to get their yaks out. We were fishing mostly spro style frogs and buzzbaits. We did very well with lots of nice bass in the 2-3 1/2 lb range. My friends picked up two snakeheads at about 23 and 24". The action was very very slow except for right at twilight, when it got pretty intense for about 20 minutes each night. At one point Sunday evening I had 8 consecutive casts with 8 solid blowups on the frog with 5 fish landed.

All in all it was a great set of outings to start the new kayak off with.

Sounds like a great time! 5 for 8 is a pretty good streak. Where were you guys fishing?

Gotta love twilight topwater action. 8 for 8 with 5 landed is pretty good. I'm really looking forward to the July M&G.

Yeah the good streak at the end of the day helped me forget the terrible hook up ratio earlier in the day. I forgot to mention we were fishing the Mattawoman creek area.
