  • Weakies-

Jkrahl and I met Kayakjoe in OC a few days back to try for flounder. Didnt have much luck with them, but we didnt try too hard either. We caught weakfish up to 17 in. Once we got on em, it was time to go. Typical. Jkrahl lost a nicer one at the side of the yak, around 20 inches. He also caught an 18in rockfish (striper for you western shore guys ). Plenty of blues too. If your gonna be in the area for whatever reason, its worth bringing your yak.

Awesome, thanks for sharing. My cousin lives in OC and keeps asking when my wife and I are going to come visit this summer. Might have to try to figure out a date soon...

What did you catch the fish on? and what general area?

          Mango,
The best bite is at night, around 50 bridge. We launched from behind Hooper's Crab House. There are a few boat slips in the creek north of Hoopers. They are private but we launched over the dock without a problem.

Excellent report. I kind of feel like I'm looking at photos of dinosaurs. I can't remember the last time I saw actual evidence of weakfish that large in this area. Very cool.
