  • Ft. Mchenry 8-12-12

Went out around 630 pm launched from canton. A lot of current ripping around the fort on an incoming tide. Caught a ton of small rock mostly 6-12" on a spoon and curly tail. I switched over to a popper once the sun went below the trees and continued to catch a lot more small ones, even a double hook up on the popper and a small blue fish. I figured a school of bigger fish had to show up eventually and after my 100th cast I landed a 21" fish.

Nice. Thanks for the report. Been wondering how the fishing was around there these days.

Very cool. I like it when persistence pays off. A big Stillwater Smack-It is handy for weeding out the little stripers. I've only ever caught a few undersized fish using it.
