I launched from SPSP at 4pm on Sunday. The weather was great and the bay relatively smooth. I thought for sure I was going to catch a big rockfish.
I jigged the western side pilings with a 6" chartreuse BKD... I jigged, jigged, jigged, jigged... nada.
I trolled some xraps all the way to the eastern side... nada.
I jigged some more... jigged, jigged, jigged... nada!

The sun was setting, so I started heading back west. I trolled 2 xraps and a chatterbait tipped with a bkd. BAM! Fish on the chatterbait... eh, only a 12" striper. A few minutes later, again, on the chatterbait. 12"er. And again... and finally a 16"er. I ended up catching 4 small stripers.

And then something bigger hit the chatterbait. I thought I had my keeper... It was the best fight of the day and turned out to be... a freaking 12" snagged menhaden!! My first bunker.

I was having more luck at the BB in the spring... not so much this summer... only dinks so far. Ugh.

At least you got some cool pics of the bridge even if the fishing was slow.
