Decided to venture out and try a new spot today. Launched out of Friendship Landing around 730am and fished until 12pm. The morning was slow and I thought for sure I was going to end up getting skunked today. At about 10am the white perch bite suddenly picked up and I managed to bring in about 18 WP with the biggest ones being around 10". I've never caught many white perch before but wow, they are a fiesty little fish that put up a pretty good fight! I only brought two of them home with me as I didn't feel like cleaning out a bunch of fish. They were hitting a red/chartreuse Strike King spinner bait and a small inline spinner bait. Also, managed to spot this guy in the morning...

That's a monster turtle. A least you found some perch worth keeping. They're a blast to catch, especially when you get into some 11 and 12 inchers. Good to eat and fun to catch.

Yeah the turtle was huge! From a distance all I could see was the head coming up out of the weeds, I thought it was a big snakehead popping its head up. I threw my frog behind it and came right on top of where the head was and the turtle tried to get the frog. That's when I realized it wasn't a snakehead and ventured closer to it. Pretty amazing sight to see and glad I didn't hook it!!
