At the beginning of the week the weather was looking fantastic for the weekend, but as the weekend approached the weather seemed to go downhill with the threat of rain and wind. We had such good luck the last time that we were at the Roosevelt Inlet that we wanted to go back. The weather was doable depending on which weather forecast that you listened to. Not trusting the weather reports, we kept our plans to go. The plan was for myself, Surfdog, and Grady-Black to meet up at the Wawa at 4:00am on Route 50 and drive to the Roosevelt Inlet in Delaware. We would meet Tufnik there later on in the morning. Low tide was at 9 am and high tide was at 3:30pm. We were going to try to stay there and fish a few hours before high tide and two hours after high tide. After a few stops along the way for food from a Royal Farms and a stop at a tackle shop in Delaware, we launched into the inlet. The current was moving fast which made fishing a little tough. We encountered a 15 minute shower in the morning, otherwise, it was rain free before lunch. We ate at a local Irish restaurant on the water. and went back into the water for the rising tide, hoping that fishing would improve. I managed to catch a 16.5 flounder in the afternoon, but that was the biggest fish that I caught, before the storms rolled in at 4:30pm. I caught and released allot of small 6 to 9 inch croakers, and 5 inch black seabass. John caught a 12.5 inch flounder, scores of croakers and small black seabass, a toad fish, and a spot. Gady-Black did not stay for the afternoon. He went home after lunch. Tufnik got out of the water first, followed by SurfDog and then myself. Now for the drive back in the storm. At least I got to listen to the Redskins win their pre-season game against the Colts.

I was on the water at 0730 hrs and saw the guys fishing the canal entrance area. Made my marine radio contact and said I would go straight to the inlet. Later in the morning, the wind picked up and the chops got bigger. The incoming tide was moving too well. Phew, good exercise out there. Anyway, ended up catching a 14" short flounder.
Hey, I caught the storm during the drive home too. Lightning in the distance. Raining cats and dogs.Attached Files2015 Hobie Outback (yellow)
