      No idea.. I hate toad fish they hit like a doormat flounder and then ruin your excitement.

                As ugly as they are and as much as many people don't like them, I'm glad they are getting recognition. Good job on that toad!

                    Where did you find that big bar dog? My buddy and I caught a few really big ones in Aug 2011 between the two CBBT spans near Fisherman's Island while drifting for flounder. But your fish is a whopper -- about the largest I have seen.

                    I have heard of some tournaments that target only toadfish. Yours would have been a winner.

                          very nice toad!

                          i've caught the smaller ones as bycatch - but what is the best places to target them and baits to single them out? any info is actually appreciated. i'd like to put one in my Chesapeake tank for awhile.

                            I've always caught them over oyster reefs and shell bottoms near drop offs jigging Gulp grubs and Gulp jerkbaits. The oyster shoal near the Rt 4 bridge by Solomons on the St. Mary's side is full of them.
