I got to PLO about 3pm went to the boat ramp and caught 2 dozen minnows. It was an outgoing tide. I fished the mouth of the jetty and caught small spot and croaker then fished up to the light house. Fishing was extremely slow. There were a few blow-ups at the point but missed the bites.
I headed back to the jetty about 6pm I fished all the way back all my usual holes were marking fish but they were not biting. I got back to the jetty about 7pm and it was like someone turned a light switch on. The reds were breaking the surface feeding on minnows so I threw minnow on my hook and hooked up with some nice reds and rockfish along the side recieving the current. It was pushing the bait against the rocks and I hooked up on every cast I got so much footage that I had to break the vid up into 2 parts here is part one.

Nice video. I'm looking forward to part 2 as well. It looks like Kevin and I made the exact wrong choice last night.

Nice work on the reds... just curious did you use a minnow trap or are you allowed to use cast nets in MD tidal waters?

You're allowed to use a cast net up to 10 feet in radius in the Chesapeake Bay and tributaries where nets are permitted:

I've seen the minnows around the boat ramps and have been tempted to catch them. If I'm remembering correctly I believe there is no fishing from the piers near the boat ramp. However, I have seen people catching them with dip nets. There is a little store right next to the launch. If you were worried about the park hassling you you could check with them to see if it is permitted.

Minnow trap works really good for bull minnows and killiefish there also. In an hour i have caught overa hundred with some croaker heads as bait.

I used a minnow trap just off one of the sandy beach areas by the ramp.

Nice work! Looks like you are using some sort of a Carolina rig with beads and a spinner blade on the end? I made something like that and have caught fish on it before with a bare hook. Good rig!

Yes I used an inline weight to 20lbs floro- carbon. I used these reflective beads with a spinner blade with no clevis just naked on the line.
