  • Finally got my first yak redfish!!

    Fished Weems tonight with Shane "Reelaxin", both of us wanted to catch our first puppy and I finally got lucky!!!

      Hell yeah!! it went on a decent little run too, for Light tackle... Caught it on a "bignose" spinner with white gulp.. the hawgshads caught some fish, the gulp holds up a little better.

            Those little runs are the best, especially when they spot the boat. The only bad thing about those hawg shads is that they are extremely soft. Great for some kinds of fishing, but perch and reds rip them to shreds pretty quickly.

                  Thanks for the tips John. I fished a small green spinner like you showed me and caught a bunch of perch, small stripers, and had a pickerel to the side of the boat before it shook off. Definitely a good first trip to Weems of many more. No reds yet but I hope to get my first one this weekend.
