  • ST. J's Creek- Sunday morning

Got up this am and decided to fish for a few hours- it was windy and rough, but hey, you fish when you can- I put a limit of keeper stripers in the bag and headed home to watch football- pictures will be added later

Congrats on the striper limit, Ron. Those look like nice, healthy fish, too. What was the lure of choice?

Fished the evening in that spot.....a bevy of 17 incher rocks and one 17 inch puppy drum.....just cant break the barrier. Tide was low low low when I started and coming in.

Good looking fish Ron. They are fatter than the ones I have been catching in Weems Creek recently.

Nice going Ron. I wish I lived closer to St J so I could go back more often. I really like the place. Lots of different types of water to fish. Im glad you caught something to bring home.

I caught three redfish that were a hair under 18 inches (I tried to stretch them a quarter inch to make them legal but it didn't work)- all on Redfish Magic (changed out the soft plastic trailer with Gulp curly tails)...six small speckled trout 12-13 inches caught on XR-8 olive Rapala XRap...it was rough and windy- perfect Striper conditions...hard to hold your position in current and big chop, but productive on a fast-moving, out-going tide...small breakers were visible, so I thought that tossing a popper in the middle might work- yep, first cast- boom, big blowup, 20 1/2 inch fish...next cast 18 incher- got home in time for the 1 p.m. NFL kickoff- (lousy refs are screwing up my favorite football game)-

P.S. the fish were healthy, fat and fought good- 4 really nice boneless, skinless fillets
