Fished out of Jones Point Park on Thursday with a buddy searching for a big blue cats. Launched at about 0645 at slack tide after throwing a cast net un-successfully for bait and not getting any attention on my top and bottom rig baited with fishbites. We headed to a hole my buddy knew of over by the national harbor and proceeded to soak some nasty soft bunker and cut bait we had as back up and my t/b bottom rig in hopes of some white perch. Caught about a dozen small cats on the fish bites, a couple bull heads on the cut bait and snapped the line horsing a 15-20 lb blue cat in. All in all pretty slow but I think it was in part due to the bait. My buddy had similar results and also landed a couple cats by the bridge in the main channel. Going to have to give it another shot sunday morning. Were off the water around 1115 so I could make it back in time for an appointment.
Btw, A BIG thank you to Creolo25 (Richard). He was fishing near the park as we were coming in and we swapped introductions. When I got home I found out I had somehow left my plug and play cart at the park and PM'd him to see if there was any chance he had seen it. He had in fact seen it and picked it up and we will be working out a time this weekend to get it back to me. Thanks again!
