I fished this morning from 7-9 with very little action. I started with topwater as there were fish at the surface and birds working. No takers. Then I trolled my usual spots with Rapalas. One dink. I moved a little further north and into slightly deeper water. I found a 14 and a 16. Both hit a 5" bass assasin in white/red. I decided to give it up and paddle for home around 8:30. Got a hard hit but nothing stayed on. I forgot that I was trolling soft plastics, so I just kept going. When I got back to the launch around 9 and pulled in my lines I found that 4" of my 5" BA was gone. Guessing it was a blue, but who knows. Fishing was slow to say the least. So much for a feeding frenzy before the cold front. Evidently the fish didn't watch the news last night.
