Floating Potomac with students

Well I headed to fresh water and drifted the potomac, including a stream side overnight, this weekend. We launched at Brunswick and floated to the Monocacy river. Sadly, the fishing was poor--I assume it was due to the cold snap. I caught no big smallies, but was able get a few each day. While I'm complaining, my air matress deflated in the night and the temp dropped below the rating of my sleeping bag.....arrgghh!
I was invited by a couple students from my school and their dads. I really was honored to be invited. Of course, we had to have a candy bar or two on the line to keep it interesting. One of the boys and I battled it out. In the end, I caught the most.... but he caught the largest. Guess that cancels things out! Well here are the pics of some of my micro smallies.

Yea, it was 33 degrees when I left home on Saturday morning...I wondered how cold it might get that night for you =(.

Those are small! That's normally a good section of river to fish. I can imagine that the cold conditions and clear water had the fish tucked down low and under cover. Even if you didn't catch much, it's a beautiful river.
