I fished St. Jerome's Creek on Saturday. I got some good pointers from Ictalurus, who wasn't able to join me that day. He hasn't posted in a while...I wonder if his baby came already. Well, thanks for the tips, Bill!

I accomplished my goal of catching fish. I didn't accomplish my prime goal of catching some speckled trout, though . Time's running out for this season....so maybe next year.

Here's a link to my blogpost with the story and pictures: http://sunfeesh.blogspot.com/2012/10...mes-creek.html.

I was inspired by Bill's pictures, and I tried to take some artsy pictures of the toadfish. The poor ugly creature gets no love anywhere else...why not have it as a subject for some interesting macro pictures.

Where are you thinking about going? I might have a new outback (if it has arrived by then) that will need to be broken in. If not, the prowler is ready as always. I would be down for a trip.

          Thanks, Cliff.
After a year of using a cheapo camera that I got off of a little kid on Craigslist for 30 bucks, I concluded that I need a good camera. Something that can capture the nice scenery that I often experience when I'm on the water, so I can share with those who can't join me...like my parents, wife, and kids. So with some of the money I was saving up for a new kayak, I splurged and got the Olympus TG-1iH. It hasn't been on the market for too long, so it is still kind of expensive, but I don't regret the purchase one bit. I took those pictures of the toadfish using the "Macro Mode" that it has - it's almost like a microscope haha.

Good luck on your specs trip - I'm sure you don't need it though...seeing as how you're a seasoned spec angler haha.

Google Monkfish and the toadfish might be topped on the ugliest fish.

                Great report as usual Sun.

Yeah those reds sure do fight hard don't they? Congrats on those first puppies and the keeper striper!

You can park on the side of the road at the end of Fresh Pond Neck Rd.

Thanks for the good wishes but I wouldn't call myself a seasoned angler, rather the waters of MD have been kind to me. An old Texas saying puts it best, "Even a blind squirrel can find an acorn." I just hope they are still in waters by the time I get out this weekend. That camera is exceptional. I really like that macro setting and the fact that it is water proof puts it over the top!! Looks like I've got something to ask Santa for.
