For the what it's worth dept., I went out yesterday in a Parker 25' w/ a friend out of Selby Marina and nothing but dinks all day. Bottom fished around Thomas Pt. w/ clams, and couldn't find any spot to live-line with, and we never saw any gulls for breaking rock or blues. Came in at sunset @ high tide, and tried top water lures in a couple of spots near shore - nothing.

My buddy said that the change in barometric pressure may have sent the fish to deeper waters in the channels. Anyone else ever hear about fish being effected by drop in pressure? The water is also cooling down, maybe they're in deep in that warmer water.

I asked a similar question some time ago on this forum and got some great answers. Check it out: http://www.snaggedline.com/showthrea...ght=barometric

It was a strange day yesterday. I went to point look out but didn't put the yak in the water because of the strong southerly current
There too the birds were nowhere to be found. I caught small 10-12 inch specks at the jetties. I thought that the lower the barometric pressure the better fishing was making the fish more active. There was a cold front coming and it switched the winds to come out of the north. I will say that rockfish were all over the pier last night and they were 14-17 inches . I caught one on just about on every cast from 8pm until I left at 11pm and I left the fish biting. they were stacked and visible at the surface of the water. I was using a glow in the dark curly tail grub. There was a boat anchored just off the left side of the fish haven and they were screaming so loud that I thought they were in some king of trouble ,but apparently they where into the fish heavy. So the storms didn't effect the fishing at all last night.
