Eastern shore, MD - Let's go on a date.... Kayak Fishing...
I had a great time this weekend, Tyler thanks again for letting me crash! Fishing for specs is a blast when they are biting. The weather Tyler and I fished through was insane of Friday. We experienced the most intense rain I have ever fished in (or ever been outdoors in), followed by fog which allowed less than 30 yards of visibility and finally clear blue skies in the afternoon. It was also one of the best days of fishing Tyler and I ever had. Tyler and I must have caught over 20 keeper stripers together between 18" and 25", the 25" got out of my cooler so there is not a picture of it. When I am on the water, I don't take many pictures because a lot of the fish come in groups of two or more and I am in too much of a rush to get the line back in the water. We also caught a lot of puppy drum, I think Tyler had one slot size, most of mine were a little over 17" but no keepers.
Smallest fish is 16" and the largest is 22"
Most specs were between 18" and 22"
We only kept three stripers because we were expecting to catch a bigger one. Most stripers caught were between 18"-22" with the largest being 25"
All fish were caught with a paddle tail soft plastic on a 1/8th ounce jig head worked along grass beds.
It was!! Cliff is a decent cook haha, we split up the roles.... I filet'd the fish... which cliff took video of... Tyler hosted and threw away the scraps and Elaina just watched ...
