With Hurricane Sandy coming, a little info- I have had great luck fishing these monster storms over the decades- usually 10-12 hours before the storm hits it is eerily calm and glassy waters...and the fish are turned on eating- don't take any chances with timing- you don't want to get caught in heavy surf conditions in anything, much less a tiny plastic human powered craft, but be aware that the fishing can be unbelievably good-

I was wondering about that. I guess tonight is a little early? What about after the storm? Will this flush the fish out of the rivers and back into the bay, or will it cause them to hold to structure in shallow water?LL Bean (Perception) Manatee DLX Angler 9.5'

It has more to do with the barometric pressures than the rain, although any storm that produces 10(+) inches of rain is going to affect fishing with excess runoff-"Lady Luck" 2016 Red Hibiscus Hobie Outback, Lowrance Hook2-7TS

On a more serious note, there are some very ominous forecasts now for "Sandy". There's nothing worse for the Bay than an extended tropical storm w/ lots of rain, the accompanying run-off, and floating debris. Let's hope and pray that it takes a right turn in the Atlantic.Last edited by Fishinfool; 10-26-2012, 12:32 PM.
