russ495 and I launched at Bell Grove and I headed down the Patapsco it was like dodging crab pot in a motor boat lot a trash. {trash: meant by lots of wood} We worked our way out to the boat channel marking nothing until we got to the big boat channel everything was between 30 & 40' I Trolled a 4oz in line with 2oz Big Eye and did not hit bottom without slowing down. I did get one 16" and one 9" on a stretch 20... Russ ended up with a 21" keeper working the channel slow. My personal best was on the way back the tide was high we were working shallow crankbaits and I hooked up with a 22" pickerel

Over the years I think I have caught only 2 pickerel in the Belle Grove area... and both of them were runts in the 12"-14" range. A 22"er is definitely bragging size. Every now and then the regular guys that fish from the HH ramp piers will report catching a pickerel, none recently though.Howard

Come on Zimm, there are a lot of fish to catch beside Stripers. Come on out with us over the winter. I'm going to try to catch a fish a week, or at least a fish per month next year.

Last year I caught fish in every month of the year- big blue cats in February on the Mattawoman fishing with kevinfry, Chexone and Ictalurus...don't fish alone in cold waters, but by all means get out and enjoy the great seasonal fishing we have here in the Southeast Atlantic coast all year round-"Lady Luck" 2016 Red Hibiscus Hobie Outback, Lowrance Hook2-7TS

i'm not ready to pack it up for the year- would just be nice to have one more trip at HH or Amistead with the SOT
I'll use the sink for smaller waters and harsher weather because it forces me to limit carry alongs and I don't mind draggin a $200 boat through the brush
