Got my Outback in the truck- menhaden bait- made up six snelled circle hooks with 40 # mono for catfishing on fish finder rigs last nite- the rough mouths of catfish are tough on the mono leaders- once frayed you have to change them out for a new one or risk losing a big fish- Did not hook up the new Lowrance Elite 5 DSI unit yet- waiting on some mounting supplies to come USPS- I will use my Eagle 350 Combo again today- nice little unit- Will update this thread tonight after I get home and upload pixs

It was a very slow bite today in 38 degree water, but I had a great time fishing with Ron and Don again.
I managed to catch three blue cats at 3, 4, and 5 lbs. The secret bait was canada goose liver! Shhh dont tell anyone...

I pulled a real "boner" today- something I knew better- left my anchor at home- can't catch catfish in cold water drifting- got to be anchored and sitting still- fish will not chase bait- but I still enjoyed my day on the water- got really cold about 2 p.m. temp dropped and the breeze was directly up the creek- burr- I had been comfortable all day until 2 p.m. Enjoyed fishing with Ryan and Don-
