I fished the bay bridge today; more like tried to fish. launched from SPSP around 245, and head out to the eastern rockpile. the second i get there, a cable on my mirage drive snapped. damn! i have to admit, it has lasted this long with extremely minimal maintenance so it was due. as i'm inspecting my drive to see if i could macgyver something, i notice this tiny crack at the cam lock (it's a 2007 revo). i wasnt taking on water that i could notice and who knows how long it has been there, but decided to head back in paddling. i did jig the western rockpile for about 5 minutes and trolled back, nothing. i have to admit, paddling the revo was not that bad! so when i landed, i began inspecting and found a big crack in the cam lock bolt thing in the yak. not sure this yak will be open bay seaworthy again as this crack will only get worse i'm sure, so not worth the risk, but i'm gonna try and repair it to at least use it in shallow waters. good thing i added a new revo to the fleet a couple weeks ago.
