  • More Wilson Bridge Blue cats

I ran up to Fletcher's Saturday morning to check it out. After 3 hours of fighting the current and getting skunked I decided to pack up and run down to the Wilson Bride. I am glad I did. I hit the water at 1:00 and by 6:00 I had caught 88 Blue catfish. 80 of them were between 19" and 19 3/4" eight of them were 20" to 25"

I decided to go back again Sunday morning to see if I could get some more. The wind was blowing and the waves were rolling about 3 to 4 foot sweel in the channle under the bridge. I felt like I was at the Bay Bridge on a rough day.

I got tucked up against the North wall of the 2nd island and started catching bigger fish right away. I caught another 35 or so today, 19 of them messured over 21" largest being 33"with an 21 1/2" girth.

The two big surprise catches were, first a 25" American eel and second was my rod and reel that I dropped overboard 3 week ago. It still seems to work but I will take it apart and clean it up.

I dropped it right at the North end of the first wall so the current is always a little slack right there. Pure luck.

I would say 1 fish at a time but since I pulled 27 fish out of one hole in about 30 minutes (all in the 19" range) it was sometimes two at a time.

Sitting out there all by myself I could just count out loud.
