  • excellent shoreline striper fishing today, with pics

today i got 12 stripers from 20-30 inches using spro bucktails and white gotcha twister tails. the best colors for bucktails were green and bunker(blue and pink). i used one ounce and also 3/4 ounce. they fought hard and i had a great time. also i had a 7 and a half foot star stellar inshore rod with a shimano saros 3000 reel with 15 pound power pro and 2 feet of 25 pound seagur tied straight to the main line, i would cast and reel up the slack quickly and then a steady to fast retrieve and they would it it real quick. also saw about a 30-40 pound carp caught ton a storm swimbait shad. good luck!

Not sure what problem you were refering to but no worries not looking for a spot burn. Fishing in a kayak fishing jamboree on the flats this weekend and was hoping to see some good reports from up north.

Way to go Andrew. I didn't go today. The weather was calling for 17mph South wind, which would have been rough. So I stayed home and did some rod building. I still have several rods to get together for the summer.

You are always on the prowl for those fish.

I got to the store a little late yesterday. However, I noticed your brand of Spro bucktails were sold out. It was as if you left a trail.

I have a whole arsenal of Spro's. When I first started LT fishing for stripers , all we used were Spro's dressed w/a grub or hyper tail. Then came along storms, BKD's , BA's . Need to drop them back in the water and get the dust off. Nice going !!
