  • My First

Fished Mattawoman creek for MAKBF event 1 on Saturday. Tried hard to catch bass, but I just don't really have the patience for it or something. However, my first fish of the day, was my first ever snakehead! So, really after that it didn't matter if I caught another fish all day. I did however manage one 13" bass. At about 11 am I gave up on the bass and started soaking baits for cats by the old barge. Weird thing was I could hardly get the cats to come out and play. I caught 5-6 dink channels and had one big fish on, but she came off before getting to the surface. Anyways here are some pics...

Matt put on a great tournament, if you are able, think about coming out to the next event. May 25th on Occ Reservoir

Nice, what did you catch it on?

I caught a 23" above the barge and just before 2:30 I was paddling out and saw fish working right off the channel. Had a huge snake nail the spinnerbait, but only had him for about 3 seconds, but it was heavy.

I love the way that snakehead looks on your measuring stick. Great looking fish.

Thanks guys, I caught the S/H on a black and blue chatterbait. The chatterbait came from loupa5 at the susky yp m&g for my biggest fish winner. Thanks loupa5!

First round will be blackened tonight. This is pretty much my go to favorite way to cook any fish. Pictures to come later tonight.
