  • 5/2/13 South River Fishing Report

I fished in selby bay tonight off of my pier and there was a strong perch bite going on. Overall I caught about 40 perch and the biggest was only about 6 or 7 inches. All fish were caught on bloodworms on my hand tied bottom rigs with green beads. I finally gave up hope of getting some eating sized perch so I put away the bloodworm rods ( 6 6 saint croix premiers with 2000 battles) . then i broke out my topwater rod ( 7 foot tidemaster with a 3000 shimano saros reel). Around 5 oclock in had a nice blowup that made my smackit go skyward but the fish never came back and that was it for the night. i fished till 8 30. i did however see alot of penuts flippin out there just like september/october which is a good sign.
