5/6 Susqy Perch & Shad

First trip out this year from Lapidum. I was the only kayak around but the river was loaded with bass boats and waders up by Deer Crk. Caught upwards of 40 perch with very few large ones. Caught my first and several additional shad and was surprised by how big shad are. I always thought they would be the size of a perch. I had two over 20 inches. Also caught one small rockfish on a shad dart. Overall a great day!

Thanks for the report. This chilly weather we have been having the past couple of weeks is delaying the departure of hickory shad... which is a good thing is you are a shad fisherman.
