  • Matapeake June 4 2013

It's nice to relax on flat water bottom fishing every now and then. The weather was perfect and it was a nice day out on the water in about 11' of water in front of matapeake. arrived around 4 out on the water by 4:30 and fished til about 9.

Bloodworms was what I used for all my bites, but KulJc was using shrimp and fishbites. Those worked well as well.

The catch consisted of all spot and croaker. There were some 9-10" spot that I caught. Not the jumbos I miss, but it's getting there. Croakers ranged from 10-13 inches. I was surprised to see croakers this size being caught cause it wasn't until July August that croakers this size were being caught consistently at PLO last year. Anyhow, there are some shots in the clip of how hard the fish were hitting.

Here is the clip of the highlights.

The best time spent is time that doesn't feel like it was spent at all. When it's worth it you'll give everything to do it all over again no matter what the cost.

Small stuff is definitely here- Croakers are showing up every where- Bushwood, Cobb Island, PLO, off St. J's Creek- time to start thinking about the fishing patterns- everything eats spot-
