  • Blitzed & Burned: BB 12 June

    Last report, I promise.

Took a buddy out for his first Hobie/striper LTJing outing at the BB. He quickly hooked into and lost a 28"+ off the shallow piles and then we decided to press N...worked the sewer pipe and noticed breaking fish further N. What ensued was mayhem. Perhaps 2, 3 acres of blitzing striper from 16-30". Caught several with 6" of line dangling in the water on the side of the yak. 40-50 between the two of us, too many keeper sized to count. Topwater was too effective and treble hooks took too long to unhook. Unfortunately the boats took notice of our yelping and we were shortly surrounded. Went back to the piles and jigged up 10 or 12 more. Great way to end my short stint with Bay fishing.

I would love to witness something like that. I can't wait to get to the bay bridge!

Excellent job! looks like I should have hit the bb after all! Launched in grasonville and fished the Chester river instead and managed a couple rays and some perch but nothing else... Ton of peanut bunker and a few full size ones around though.

I love when that happens, great fun. Like Wayne mentioned, now with the peanut bunker, that will happen more and more during the season.

Launched from the floating dock in the marina. BB is money this time of year. Last year was on fire as well

Thanks for the report! I have yet to try jigging for rocks! Can I ask what line weight/make you were using?
