Got out from 6-dark this afternoon. 24" on the first cast and it improved from there. Late in the evening it was literally a fish on every cast. Nothing huge mostly 18-25". 3/4 ounce jig was working best for me. Couple cow nose rays in the area too- snagged two of those bastards.

I was there as well. 10 fish to 22.5 inches. Lost one that peeled out 50 yards of drag without missing a beat. Slack tide mid day was dead. Played around with my new Structure Scan. The morning bite was good, and I had to be on the road by 4, and it picked up then with the return of current.Wilderness Systems Pro Staff since 2002.

I think Jeff's excellent video from last week attracted some attention to that spot. I arrived at that area in my center console about 8:30 and found 17 other boats there plus Jeff in his kayak. I saw a few fish get caught over the next hour, but not by me. Jeff did as well as or better than anyone else out there -- kayak fishermen can definitely hold their own.
I stayed for an hour and a half then left to try the bridge pilings. There was no current there and no bite. I rode around and eventually tried a deep water spot I had not visited since last fall. It produced lots of smaller fish (12" to 15" rock on nearly every cast -- great fun on a medium light action rod). At one point, the screen was lit up with marks from top to bottom.

I had one jigging pole handy, but the jighead was not as heavy as I would have liked for a 43 ft depth. Nevertheless, I dropped it down and was hooked up immediately with an 18" rock. On the next few drops, I caught smaller fish before the jig got halfway to the bottom. The bottom action was confined to a very small area, so I returned to casting at the surface. Like me, Stupidjet (now Jet) was fishing from a power boat today. I told him where I had found the action and he joined me for a while.
After catching several dozen smaller fish, the novelty wore off and I headed over to try some bottom fishing at Hacketts. There were many boats anchored up there, plus a few bozos in large boats that motored through the anchored fleet throwing off big wakes. The current was not moving there either, so bottom fishing was slow. After catching spot, croaker, and perch on Fishbites over the next half hour, I called it quits.
On my way back into Sandy Point I saw several other kayak fishermen. I don't know if they are MKF members or not.
