Well, that makes me feel better! It's much better to hook into some big ones and not land them, then to not get any hookups at all.
Can't wait to get back up there! Probably Thursday morn.
BTW, I almost didn't launch at all when I saw the little signs saying it was closed......Did you see those??Originally posted by shootNscoot13 View Postyeah that was us lol saw you out there! I had a few monsters that got off as well, but still an awesome morning!ORANGE NATIVE MANTA RAY 11

I was using a rattletrap type lure. The only things that I did land were a couple of perch (one was really nice) and a channel cat.
I can't figure out why the other ones wouldn't stay hooked, but it was a great couple of hours out there.
All of the bald eagles and other wildlife just added to a great experience.

My friend and I used to do this every morning before work, except we would head a little down river after launching. He had a little 12ft alum boat pulled behind a little car that couldn't back down that crazy launch there, so we would pull down to the launch, disassemble the boat and carry the gas tank, motor, anchor...pick up the boat off the trailer, reassemble then go fish. Repeat on the way in. It was a blast.
I may join you guys one day.....if I can get up that early. It's not as easy as it used to be. lol.Native Slayer 12
