I launched about 7 am and headed for White rocks (large rock formation at mouth of Rock Creek at the Patapsco River). Fished around the rocks and caught some WP. Have fished around these rocks in the past in the evening hours and caught schoolie stripers. Paddled around for a while and no other bites so went in around 10 am. Slow day for fishing, not to mention HOT!

    Thanks for the report.

I could "feel" the heat in your second picture.

    Better luck next time.

Regarding those rocks, I'm pretty sure they are mentioned in James Michner's novel, Chesapeake.

Early in the book I believe an Indian paddling his canoe down the Bay all the way from the Susquehanna made note of them. It has been a long time since I read the book so I could be mistaken.

They have been mentioned in many books. They been there a long long time. I thing it originally had something to do with iron ore but old be mistaken.

Thanks for the report, those rocks are "white" because of all the seagull poo covering them.

I fished around those rocks some when I was a kid. They are actually part of the plate, which has pushed up through the surface. The rock plate in this area is closer to the surface. I read something about it quite a way back. If you go over to the mouth of Stoney Creek, there are the Black Rocks. In any event, there are some deeper holes in the area of those rocks, which hold fish.
