  • saturday topwater report with pics

got to my spot at 4 am. we heard fish jumpin everywhere so we began throwing topwater but they kept missing the hooks because it was dark. so we switched over to calcutta swimbaitss and must have caught 30 fish from 15-25 inches

once it got a little more light we threw topwater and got a bunch more keepers!

It's been awhile since you posted a kayak report. I think this and other shore fishing reports ought to go on the "general" section. It is clearly labelled "surf, boat"

It is so cool that a youngster such as yourself is so into fishing- keeps you out of trouble- more kids need to leave the video games and get the rods out-

The average Middle Bay Striper seems to be a little bigger this year, more keepers- this is not based on personal experience- I have not fished for stripers as I have targeted speckled trout and redfish all summer long and just observing the forum postings- so far my best redfish this year is 22 inches and the speck - 19 1/2...caught both species again yesterday-

              Kayak 456,

I think it’s great that you and your buddies are enjoying your fishing. Your reports bring back memories of my own youth. I also rode my bike to my favorite spot but I never thought to attach a milk crate to my ride! It was hard to carry the rod in one hand and steer the bike with the other and I did crash once but my Mitchell 300 reel and fiberglass rod survived the wreck. That was 50 years ago. You have discovered a wonderful hobby. It will never grow old and neither will your outlook if you keep fishing. I wish you continued luck on the water and in life.

Great! Maybe there'll be some fish left for everyone else to catch. Just kidding. Nice work on the top water. I tried Friday morning and again today from about 6-9. Nothing. Lots of fish breaking the surface and lots on the FF but none in the boat.

                Good luck in NC.
